BEAUTY WITHOUT VIRTUE


Listen up, gentlemen and ladies!

Don’t be fooled by a person’s charm or charisma.

Don’t also be fooled by your own beauty, talents, skills, abilities or charismatic personality. 

Be grateful for them. Be confident in them.

Engage and leverage them appropriately to the highest extent of their purpose and usefulness.

Yet, note this very important fact: 

The obvious presence of these catching qualities does not necessarily or always indicate or imply the corresponding presence of character or virtue.

“A beautiful woman who lacks discretion is like a gold ring in a pig’s snout.” (The Book of Proverbs)

The same thing with competence and intelligence.

These are surely great ingredients for success.

However, competence without character can lead to ultimate ru!n or des/truction of self or others.

A smart person who is untrustworthy or secretly vindictive and sabotaging is NOT a good choice for genuine and sustainable companionship.

Unless you are not relating frequently with a person of vile character, you will get to experience this.

There are a lot of intelligent and competent people who are ethically challenged (dishonest, selfish and lacking moral or ethical standards and values).

I am disappointed to see so many mentally robust, verbally articulate and socially versatile individuals who are disloyal, unfair and unable to be trusted.

Folks who are easily triggered to spite or sabotage.

(Read that last line again).

The most dan/gerous are those who have outwardly endearing, charismatic, charming, exciting and nice personas but inwardly are subtle snitches, sadists, saboteurs, swindlers, slanderers, or simply stupid.

People whose characters and natures are deeply or grossly lacking in empathy, psychological maturity, emotional intelligence, financial integrity, sincerity, truthfulness, tolerance, fairness, goodness, good conscience, courtesy, and value for humanity.

Imagine being married to a beautiful serpent who doesn’t love you but is sent to harm you and bent on wasting your time, energy and resources.

Imagine entrusting your health to a competent doctor who has no good conscience or intentions to perform proper diagnosis or administer effective treatment on you if you are ill, or who has been paid and compromised to des/troy you, and thus is not loyal or accountable to the ethics of the profession.

Imagine confiding in an associate, colleague, coach or a mentor who is great on the job but is secretly envious of your growth or success—imagine letting them in on sensitive details of your personal life. 

This leads to marital, social or professional crisis. 

A person or organization that is bereft of indices of noble character in their personal or corporate culture cannot be wholesome to your wellbeing.

Beauty or charm without virtue is ultimately ugly.

Likewise, intelligence or competence without truth and integrity is unhealthy and unworthy.

Understand this veritable fact.

DESTROY THIS TEMPLE

  "Destroy this sanctuary, and in three days I will raise it up."   The words of the Lord Jesus to the dangerous and conniving religious leaders of His day who sought to kill Him and thus to silence the Truth of Yahweh (YHWH). He said this in reply to their demand for a miraculous sign in query of the authority He had to chase the money changers and merchandise sellers from the Temple just after He had cleared the Temple of these economic profiteering activities in the (falsely) religious space.  This same Christ who is the Truth gave His Word and Spirit of Truth to His Apostles who, as He had done, also bore witness to the Truth even with their lives and passed the same Truth down to the Church, which is the Body of Christ, who is the Only Head of His One Body. THE ETHICAL BEAST

A beast is an animal, especially a large or dangerous four-footed one. A wild animal. A beast is also a domestic animal, especially a bovine (meaning, relating to cattle) farm animal. Basic dictionary definitions. So, cattle are beasts.  A lion is a beast.  An eagle is a beast. A serpent is a beast.  Yes, a serpent. Let’s talk about that.
