PROPHETIC FINGERPRINTING

In my previous piece titled “Psychological Fingerprinting”, I wrote simplistically about an intuitive, simple-to-complex technique that can be employed to obtain covert feedback from unwilling, uncooperative, dishonest or compromised sources.

The methodology or technology can also be applied to establish a hypothetical relationship between stealthily informed and communicating parties within a matrix or composite system.

From my experience in Production Technology, a subset of Petroleum Engineering, there is a technique called “Chemical Fingerprinting” which is used to identify oil coming from a particular source in a commingled oil-producing system as well as other applications using chemical markers.

In this short piece, I share how this amazing concept played out beautifully in the Scriptures.

Read with me the account of John the beloved, an Apostle of Christ, as documented in his synoptic writings (chapter 19, verses 23 to 24):

When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they divided his clothes among the four of them. They also took his robe, but it was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.

So they said, “Rather than tearing it apart, let’s throw dice for it.” This fulfilled the Scripture that says, “They divided my garments among themselves and threw dice for my clothing.” So that is what they did.

Again, in the same account from verse 31 to 37:

It was the day of preparation, and the Jewish leaders didn’t want the bodies hanging there the next day, which was the Sabbath (and a very special Sabbath, because it was Passover week). So they asked Pilate to hasten their deaths by ordering that their legs be broken. Then their bodies could be taken down.

So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the two men crucified with Jesus.

But when they came to Jesus, they saw that he was already dead, so they didn’t break his legs.

One of the soldiers, however, pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water flowed out.

(This report is from an eyewitness giving an accurate account. He speaks the truth so that you also may continue to believe.)

These things happened in fulfillment of the Scriptures that say, “Not one of his bones will be broken,” and “They will look on the one they pierced.”

The writer being an eyewitness observed and noted the fulfillment of certain key elements that were in the prophetic messages of previous servants of God, several centuries beforehand.

The first was foretold by David the king and prophetic psalmist in Psalm chapter 22 verse 18, which reads, “They divided my garments among themselves and threw dice for my clothing.”

The second was foretold in a shadow in three places, as follows:

1. God’s instruction to Moses and Aaron, during the First Passover (when the Israelites were still in Egypt), concerning the Passover Lamb (a figure/type of Christ) in Exodus 12:46, stating, And do not break any of its bones.”

2. God’s instruction to Moses, during the Second Passover (one year after the Israelites had left Egypt and were in the wilderness of Sinai), concerning the Passover Lamb (a figure/type of Christ) in Numbers 9:12, stating, “And they must not break any of its bones.”

3. In the psalm of David at a time when he pretended to be insane before Abimelech king of Shechem who sent him away, he stated: “For the LORD protects the bones of the righteous; not one of them is broken!”

The third was foretold by Zechariah the prophet in chapter 12 verse 10 of his writings, namely, “They will look on the one they pierced.”

Renderings are from the New Living Translation (NLT).

This record is very important in establishing the authenticity of the claims that Yeshua is actually the Messiah, the Christ of God, the One who was to come “to save His people from their sins”.

These are just two examples of this critical Scriptural phenomena.

All through the synoptic gospels (the Biblical books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), there are many other instances where the events that occurred were directly connected to earlier writings of the Prophets and the same verdict was made: “That the Scriptures might be fulfilled.”

These were specific events in the present at the time of the recording that happened just as it had been predicted at an earlier period in time.

Actualization of post-dated truth.

Fulfillment of Scriptural prophecy.

The authentication of Christ through precise and predictive markers, signs and indications.

“This happened that the Scripture might be fulfilled which said:….”

The communication was complete.

The signal sent had been received.

The feedback loop was closed.

The prophetic pointers had reached final destination in the life and ministry of the Christ.

The Scriptures all point to Christ.

All the Prophets spoke of Christ.

And there He was, the Fulfillment of Prophecy.

He came “to fulfill the Law and Prophets”.

He was the Finger of God planted boldly in Time.

This is what I refer to in this piece as God’s Prophetic Fingerprinting.

This time it was not a mere social experiment but a solid physical manifestation of a spiritual process and reality, which had long been foretold by Divinely Inspired Messengers.

The Finger of God had appeared to save Man.

“But if I cast out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” (Luke 11:20)

The Fingerprint of Salvation.

Jesus the Christ!
