WICKED IS WICKED

"A righteous person has regard for the life of his animal, But even the compassion of the wicked is cruel.” (Proverbs 12:10)

A wicked person is a wicked person.

There is a clear definition of what wickedness really means. There are also indices to tell if a person is wicked or not.

Beyond the perception of others which can be manipulated, what a person really is at the core of their personality is who they are.

For example a sinner is a sinner. Some sinners may not agree that they’re sinners or may hide the fact that they’re sinners from others; it doesn’t change the fact.

The definition of a wicked person is clear. A wicked person knows that they’re wicked except they are just chronic liars who are deceiving themselves and deceiving others.

Example, a person who engages in sabotage is a saboteur. One who steals is a thief. A person who kills is a murderer. An adulterer is an adulterer. A gossip is a gossip.

Point being that it’s not what any person thinks of you but who you really are that matters.

That’s why honest and objective self-examination is very important.

As Aristotle the philosopher said: “an unexamined life is not worth living.”

A person who cannot humbly and honestly examine their own hearts and lives will remain helplessly blind and hopelessly lost; but no matter how sinful a person is, if they can sincerely judge themselves then there is hope that they can be helped. If a person can reflect on their wrongdoing, then they can penitently recognize and repent of their wrongdoing.

Truth is the issue.

It is the revealer and redeemer.

A wicked heart is a wicked heart even if people are applauding it because it succeeds in deceiving them.

A person who wishes evil on others or instigates evil against others is a wicked soul.

God is the Ultimate Reference for Absolute Truth.

His Word defines what truth, righteousness, sin, wickedness and everything truly is.

Just as the arm of the Government responsible for justice defines what crime is and determines who are criminal is based on the law and the legal framework or Constitution governing the laws of the country. (Woe to the people whose law makers and law enforcers are corrupt. Whose standards of justice and truth have been compromised, violated or destroyed).

It is not who the world thinks is good is good. But who God says is righteous is righteous.

The undiscerning or shortsighted world may see identity merely as the outward adorning or packaging but a person’s true identity is who they really are on the inside: their heart, character, mentality and values.

Some people have basically said this to me: if one is honest or tells the truth, the society or this world punishes such a one but rewards those who can lie, twist and manipulate things.

Does that means a person has to become dishonest or a so-called smart liar to please the world or to succeed in the world?

If so, then that person is weak in character and principles. They have no conviction but do things for convenience. Their morals or character is based on a given situation not on fixed standards of justice, truth, ethics and rightness.

Such a person is obviously not trustworthy as far as truth, integrity or justice is concerned.

As the Scriptural text above states: Even the tender mercies, compassion or kindest acts of the wicked are still cruel at the core. Just as the gifts of Satan are laced with snares and dangers.

So again, a liar is a liar. A dishonest person is a dishonest person. A cheat is a cheat.

A wicked person is a wicked person.

I end with this Scripture in Isaiah  57:20-21.

But the wicked are like the tossing sea, which cannot rest, whose waves cast up mire and mud.

“There is no peace,” says my God, “for the wicked.”
