FORGIVE YOURSELF
Forgive yourself for marrying wrongly.
Forgive yourself for your haunting past.
You’ve been totally distraught about it.
You were deeply disappointed in yourself
For the grossly suboptimal decision.
You’re disillusioned by the situation.
You’ve mourned for too long a time.
You tried to drown it in many ways.
You ran away, hid and evaded it.
You tried to medicate yourself.
You analyzed all the known facts.
You rationalized and reviewed.
You extrapolated and evaluated.
You have long realized your folly.
You have understood the gap.
You’re learning the big lesson.
Good, you took responsibility
But…
You blamed yourself.
You fought yourself.
You punished yourself.
Or at least, you took the pain.
You welcomed the punishment.
You met it with a sorrowful smile.
You rejected pointless proposals.
You refuted non-healing propositions.
You received the deserved judgment.
You embraced the strokes.
You went all the way.
You didn’t hate you.
But…
You didn’t spare you.
You wanted you to feel the pain.
You wanted to learn the lessons.
To learn wisdom and acquire sense.
To go through the needed process.
To understand what you needed.
To let suffering and pain teach…
What ease and comfort didn’t.
You went all the way.
But kudos, you refused the repeat.
Unbeknownst to you, you built capacity.
You rode the experience like a horse.
You turned pleasure to pain.
All the while, you were mourning.
The dance was a cry.
The song was a heart cry.
The tears were the melodies.
You wailed and waited and wasted…
Your alabaster box on His feet.
Wasted? So they thought.
But it was deep investment
Deep work and worship
Where songs fade and spirits sing
Melodies of heart
Written in elevated notes
Sang by empirical maestros
Played on invisible strings
Reverberating in Heavenlies
Love came down on Christmas
Heaven kissed Earth
A statement of grace
You’re forgiven
Your disobedience
Now, forgive yourself.
(A prophetic poem)
