CHRISTIAN BROKENNESS

It takes brokenness to truly love people.

BLESSED are the BROKEN who are broken of GOD to be BLESSINGS to men!

Christian brokenness refers to the work of God's Spirit in a true believer that softens his heart, surrenders his will, makes him sensitive to God, develops depth in true godliness, humility, spiritual maturity, or simply put, Christlike character.

It makes a child of God deeply attractive and compassionately irresistible to the Father, God Almighty.

This "breaking" of the stubborn self may be through the Word by spiritual ministry or meditation and through life circumstances that reach to the self life, soul and unrenewed mind of 'perfecting' or maturing saints.

"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.". (Psalm 51:17)

In ministry, the concept of "breaking bread" for multiplied distribution and increased edification can be used as a simple illustration of this truth.

Christian brokenness makes Christian ministers much more effective in true spiritual ministry, the kind that has high value to God in spirit and in truth.

The more broken we are, the more the Bread of Life, Water of Life or Life of Christ, can come forth from us and reach others in its purity and strength to create deep, genuine and lasting spiritual impact.

Thus, we do not need BETTER preachers; we need BROKEN preachers.

Men broken by God to save a world broken by Evil.

And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. (Matthew 14:19-20)

CONCLUSION:

From the above, we see two benefits of brokenness:

1. Spiritual maturity: it leads to wholeness.

2. Spiritual ministry: it leads to effectiveness.

Grace and peace!
