Nobody can make you fundamentally evil.  Don’t think or say that it is because of the world’s wickedness that you have now become dishonest, wicked, callous, selfish or diabolically corrupt. Except you’re weak, you won’t let the external world dictate or deform your internal world. Unless you have no inner strength of character. You are who you are, regardless. Understand your fundamental identity. You already had the innate potential of what you have ultimately turned out to be, good or evil. A cat can’t be a dog because of dogs around. The Spirit of Christ cannot suddenly become a Satanic spirit just because of Satan’s temporary reign. Now, understand that there is a fundamental difference between strategy and identity. You may change your strategy or action plan in a specific situation so as to get a desired outcome. But you can’t that easily just change your core identity. Real and satisfying success is about being true to yourself, growing as a person, and creating a life that brings you inner peace, joy and fulfillment. It’s not found in the frantic pursuit of perfection, wealth, fame, or the approval of other people.  Rather, it lies in embracing your strengths as well as your imperfections and valuing enriching experiences over material possessions. It is about creating meaningful connections and relationships, and truly following your own path of improvement and actualization. As Socrates the philosopher once noted:  “The unexamined life is not worth living.”  So take time to examine your life and your goals.  Are they essentially yours? Or are they basically generic goals that society has imposed on you? Remember, you should set your own objectives.  Don’t let anyone hijack your experience of life. What exactly is character? There are some misconceptions about the real meaning and implication of the concept of character. Let’s go straight to the point… Some people think character means not drinking any form of alcohol or not smoking any cigars. While this may be very good and beneficial to the health, it is really not an ethical or moral matter. Some boys take pride in sleeping with other men’s wives. They don’t go for single ladies. They go for the ones who are married. Especially young ladies married to poor men.
