DEBORAH, DELILAH AND DESTINY



In the tapestry of Scripture, few contrasts shine as sharply as the lives of Deborah and Delilah—two women who walked the same era, yet carved destinies that could not be more different. 

Their stories echo across generations as reminders of the profound power of influence and the enduring weight of character.

Deborah stands tall in the pages of history—judge, prophetess, mother in Israel. 

Under the shade of her palm, wisdom flowed like a river; leaders sought her counsel, and nations found clarity. 

Anointed by God, she rose not by charm nor manipulation, but by divine conviction. Her voice stirred courage in the heart of Barak, her presence rallied a nation, and her obedience ushered in deliverance. 

She lived yielded, purposeful, aligned—her legacy sealed in a victorious song that still reverberates through time.

Delilah, by contrast, moved in another spirit. 

Known for allure but devoid of divine anchor, she wielded influence not to uplift but to undo. 

Where Deborah inspired strength, Delilah exploited weakness. 

Her relationship with Samson became a web woven from seduction, persistence, and betrayal. 

For the price of silver, she traded destiny for deception, leaving behind a legacy remembered not for greatness but for the ruin it brought.

Between these two lives lies a timeless truth:

“Influence is inevitable, but its direction is a choice.”

Deborah used hers to call men into their God-ordained purpose; Delilah used hers to dismantle a man’s divine assignment. 

Deborah built nations—Delilah broke a man. 

One walked with God; the other walked after gain. 

One became a symbol of spiritual strength; the other a warning against destructive allure.

And so their stories urge us today:

Choose the path of Deborah—the path of purpose, wisdom, and godly influence.

For while beauty may captivate, it is character that endures.

While manipulation may conquer for a moment, only righteousness builds a legacy.

And while voices can tear down, the voice aligned with God can lift a generation.

May we be the Deborahs of our time—

raising courage, birthing destiny, and leaving behind a testimony that sings long after we are gone.

DESTROY THIS TEMPLE

  "Destroy this sanctuary, and in three days I will raise it up."   The words of the Lord Jesus to the dangerous and conniving religious leaders of His day who sought to kill Him and thus to silence the Truth of Yahweh (YHWH). He said this in reply to their demand for a miraculous sign in query of the authority He had to chase the money changers and merchandise sellers from the Temple just after He had cleared the Temple of these economic profiteering activities in the (falsely) religious space.  This same Christ who is the Truth gave His Word and Spirit of Truth to His Apostles who, as He had done, also bore witness to the Truth even with their lives and passed the same Truth down to the Church, which is the Body of Christ, who is the Only Head of His One Body.
