CHRISTIAN BROKENNESS

Image
It takes brokenness to truly love people. BLESSED are the BROKEN who are broken of GOD to be BLESSINGS to men! Christian brokenness refers to the work of God's Spirit in a true believer that softens his heart, surrenders his will, makes him sensitive to God, develops depth in true godliness, humility, spiritual maturity, or simply put, Christlike character.  It makes a child of God deeply attractive and compassionately irresistible to the Father, God Almighty.  This "breaking" of the stubborn self may be through the Word by spiritual ministry or meditation and through life circumstances that reach to the self life, soul and unrenewed mind of 'perfecting' or maturing saints.  "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.". (Psalm 51:17) In ministry, the concept of "breaking bread" for multiplied distribution and increased edification can be used as a simple illustration of this truth. Ch

FORNICATION: SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL

WHAT IS FORNICATION? Although this is a commonly used term, we should NOT take it for granted that its meaning is clear as some ambiguity may still exist, hence this question. In simple terms, fornication is sexual intercourse between people who are not married to each other. However, in its biblical usage, it has the much broader meaning of ANY sexual act outside monogamous marriage (one spouse). That means, it does NOT only refer to premarital sex but also includes adultery (in its different forms: sex with a non-spouse, lusting after a non-spouse or remarriage after unbiblical divorce/separation), homosexuality, incest, bestiality (sexual acts with animals), etc. WHAT IS BIBLICAL DIVORCE? Biblical basis for divorce: 1. FORNICATION  But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. (Matthew 5:32) And I say unto you,

THE PLIGHT OF PERFECTIONISM

Scientifically, perfectionism has been classified as a type of mental disorder such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders and other addictive behaviors. Perfectionism is actually an addiction and can lead to other mental illnesses or behavioral disorders such as depression, aggression and even suicide at the very worst case. Spiritually, perfection addiction may be attributable to some unhealthy influence or imprint in the heart and mind of a person that alters their sense of inner wholeness and attempts to make up for it with any form of external attachments or achievements. It is typically symptomatic of a deeper deficit such as destructive pride, sense of superiority or inferiority such as poor self-esteem or low sense of self-worth. These underlying factors usually originate from a heightened perception of the lack of parental love in childhood, some form of abuse (in its various possible shades) or deprivation in early years. Then they can culminate in the enslaving ne

WEDDING STYLE: WHITE OR NATIVE?

Image
Wedding style is a choice not a compulsion. The focus must be on truly understanding what marriage is (a sacred promise, oath or covenant and a lifelong commitment of love and companionship) and on the intimate and immense responsibilities for each other that both parties are taking on. Marriage is essentially abused when the focus deviates to temporal externalities only. This beautiful institution is undermined by shallow societal stereotypes such as giving greater emphasis on ceremonial celebrations without a proper understanding of the basics of and basis for getting married. The purpose of a marriage ceremony is to mark the beginning of a lifetime of marriage in the presence of appropriate witnesses, with the approval of an authorised officiant (clergy or registrar of marriage), with the blessing of parents and family and to honor the mutual consent of the uniting couple. A recognised marriage should typically be statutory and customary in its initiation. However, depending on the

WHAT ARE DEMONS?

Demons are unclean, ungodly or evil SPIRITS who perpetrate the will of their master, Satan, in rebellion against the only true God. These spirit beings wield significant supernatural influence upon human beings and human experiences. They work in solo assignments or strategic alliances with other demonic orders or territorial commands. They also work in and through humans who wittingly or unwittingly give them undue access to their minds and life's situations. They are extremely subtle, strategic, suggestive and stubborn in their multifaceted operations. Effectively, they may be a thought or counsel away. They form part of the hellish horde of the Kingdom of Darkness. They are active operatives of the enemy of man's Soul and arch-enemy of man's Source. Their satanic mission and job description is clear: to kill, steal and destroy. They will go to any lengths to accomplish this, directly or indirectly, in humanity. However, they largely operate "in the

REJECTING MONEY: A SHORT TESTIMONY

Image
There is a prevalent spirit of greed and covetousness cloaked with "religious zeal without revelation knowledge" of the authentic Christ. I term it "charismatic covetousness".  This spirit and mindset of covetousness is dangerously deceitful. It is especially tempting in times of economic recession and it is entrenched by the  prosperity false gospel. The Lord Jesus would never promote such.  We need to repent and be renewed in spirit and in truth. I had an experience in 2014 when I received a relatively significant sum of money credited erroneously to my bank account by my employer, erroneously approved by my Line Manager who thought it was one of the allowances due to me at that time, processed by HR Department and paid by the Payroll Department. I immediately reported to my Line Manager and did the necessary due diligence to reimburse the money ASAP. No delays. No stories. It was later discovered to be a system error. I make NO bogus claims to sinless perfect
