THE GOAL OF CHRISTIANITY


Due to the prevalence of poverty, many preachers and professed 'Christians' have made a priority of prosperity over and above authentic spirituality (the simple, honest and wholehearted devotion to Christ that yields Christ-likeness or the fruit of the Spirit, which is in all goodness, righteousness and truth).

To be clear, it is righteousness (with its integral elements of social justice and cultural ethics, in a sociocultural and socioeconomic context) that exalts a nation. Sin or lawlessness is a reproach to any society.

Thus, an altogether prosperous nation, abundant in resources of varied sorts, without social justice and cultural ethics (namely, the culture of rightness, uprightness or righteousness), will be ruined by entrenched and endemic corruption and social injustice, largely through misappropriation of funds and mismanagement of their abundant and varied resources.

True wisdom and understanding is the practical application of the principles of rightness, uprightness or righteousness, all found in the word of God.

Wisdom is the principal thing and, in all our getting, we must get understanding. But the fear of God is the beginning, commencement or foundation of wisdom (note: wisdom is NOT slyness, cunning or in Nigerian colloquialism, 'wayo'). And the fear of God is essentially to depart from evil and to "do what is right" (the simplified and root meaning of the word 'right-eous' taking a cue from words like 'court-eous', etc). Righteousness is basically the quality of being and doing right. This is beyond complicated, confused and confusing 'religion', as we know it.

Truly, the 'church' (aka, our pretty neoreligious organizations, denominations and sects) has lost the true essence of true faith, which is true godliness. Truth be told.

In conclusion, hear, o people! The priority goal of true Christianity or true religion is NOT material prosperity but spiritual maturity.

  What is Worship? Worship is reverential adoration and devotion. It is the deeply embedded heart attitude and habitual practice of holding highest regard, giving supreme adulation, paying unparalleled homage, rendering foremost service or according topmost dedication to someone or something.  Human beings were designed to worship. This means, we are all naturally wired to be devoted to something or someone we reckon or perceive to be most grandiose or to be the greatest Thing or Being worthy of our keenest attention, truest affection, deepest love and highest loyalty. SCRIPTURE IS INERRANT AND SUFFICIENT

  The Holy Scripture is inerrant and sufficient. Inerrant simply means incapable of being wrong. Sufficient of course means enough or adequate. To deny the inerrancy of Scripture is to call into question and cast doubt on the God revealed in the Scripture, on Christ who died, rose and is coming back as Judge and King, and on man’s salvation from eternal damnation which is solely based on the Cross and Work of Christ, the Word of God.  Scripture is either true or the God of the Bible, who is the God of love and righteousness, mercy and justice, grace and truth, revealed by and in the Lord Jesus Christ as “Our Father who is in Heaven” is not real but a fable or figment of man's imagination.  The Bible is the absolute truth of God. Albeit misunderstood and misused by so many in the false profession and practice of Christian religion for inglorious purposes and transient benefits, the Bible is essentially about the Gospel of Christ, which is the power of God unto salvation to everyone
