LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL

Life is beautiful
To those who are beautiful
Life is beautiful
If seen through eyes of beauty

Life becomes beautiful
If we become beautiful
We can make ourselves beautiful
To see through eyes of beauty

Think about this for a moment: “Life is beautiful.” Do you believe this to be true? Life is beautiful to those who are beautiful and if seen through eyes of beauty.”  What does this mean? Does it mean that the “beauty of life is in the eyes of the beholder of life”?

Life can actually take on a beautiful meaning for an individual, if that individual has learned to become “beautiful” on the inside.

Character ethics proponent, Stephen Covey, made this revolutionary statement: “We see the world, not as it is, but as we are, or as we are conditioned to see it.”

This holds true because it is not what we see going on around us that matters most. There’s only a legitimate extent to what we can possibly do to change people or to control the circumstances of life.
However, the most important thing is not to be able to control the whole world but to be able to control our own selves and our own worlds. No one can control the entire world except God. It is more important to control the internal world within us than to seek to control the external world around us.

In doing this, we must ask ourselves these potent questions: Who am I? Why am I here? What is life all about? How should I interact with and respond to people or events that occur in my life? What am I doing to make my life and world good?

These are a few vital questions we can ask ourselves as people with great futures ahead of us. It’s a tough fact that we do not live in an ideal or perfect world. So we can’t keep waiting for ideal conditions to happen to us. We have real life issues and challenges, personally or socially, that we must face headlong. Problems keep arising, both naturally occurring and man-made. This is inevitable.

However, it’s our attitude, mental posture, perception and core beliefs that matter most because they determine how we respond to these external occurrences. We must understand that it’s all about what happens in us not to us. In the words of international speaker and author, Myles Munroe: The way a person thinks about himself is a key to how he will think about others and to his general outlook on life.

So, it’s fundamentally about us as individuals; who we are in the core of our beings. It’s about our personal outlook on life as expressive and intelligent beings. It’s about how we process life on a personal level. That’s where it all begins. Life is beautiful but it’s about your interpretation of life and how you process it.

Life can become beautiful, if you can become beautiful.
