THE SIN OF HYPOCRISY

May I  to focus on a speck in another’s eyes when I have a beam on my own eyes.

So help me God.

Christ called such religious people hypocrites.

They monitor the personal lives and invade the privacy of others, focusing on other people’s flaws, shortcomings or struggles, whilst they have their own personal issues which may be weightier or of more gravity before the just and righteous God.

Christ frowned at it and rebuked it in the Pharisees.

It is a grave sin before God.

Judging people harshly whilst being lenient on oneself. Projecting a super spiritual image whilst always finding fault in others. Covering your own shortcomings while probing into, magnifying and misrepresenting the weaknesses of others.

It is a deeply wicked and religious trait, character, quality and personality. The religious spirit is a deadly spirit. It is a satanic stronghold, believe me.

It is easier to deliver a sinner than a religious person.

Let me be a sinful human aware of my constant need of Christ rather than a religious demon who is proud and smug in my self-righteousness.

The great danger in religion is that there is the similitude, activities and creeds of God but there is no Presence of Christ, no Nature of the Father, no Fruit of the Spirit. Simply put, no godly love.

Religious people do not know this because they don’t know God. They do not even care to know. They are opinionated or at best pretentious that they’re never wrong — they deny being hypocritical, misjudging, mistaken or wrong in any way — ‘perfect’ people indeed.

Fake and pretentious. That’s why Christ didn’t spare them. It was obviously not because of their human shortcomings and failings or even sins.

He says: “I don’t condemn you but go and sin no more” to the adulteress whose sin was in the open.

Then He said in effect to the fake people accusing her: “Let the individual who has no sin, cast the very first stone thereafter the rest of you sinners can continue and finish the wicked job of kpai-ing her.”

As a matter of fact, the emphatic and repeated verdict He said had for the sneaky, tricky, dodgy, pretentious, hypocritical, fake, dubious, deceitful, conniving and conspiring wicked religious leaders who expectedly knew all the laws of Moses was this: “woe to you!”

This is Jesus Christ Himself on false religion.

Finally, people are unaware that such violations and invasions of privacy or breeches in confidentiality are crimes which puts them at the risk of ligitation.

Do they care? Especially in certain societies.

Now, go and prayerfully learn the word: lawlessness.

Grace, mercy and peace to all God’s Elect!
