THE GOAL OF CHRISTIANITY
Due to the prevalence of poverty, many preachers and professed 'Christians' have made a priority of prosperity over and above authentic spirituality (the simple, honest and wholehearted devotion to Christ that yields Christ-likeness or the fruit of the Spirit, which is in all goodness, righteousness and truth). To be clear, it is righteousness (with its integral elements of social justice and cultural ethics, in a sociocultural and socioeconomic context) that exalts a nation. Sin or lawlessness is a reproach to any society. Thus, an altogether prosperous nation, abundant in resources of varied sorts, without social justice and cultural ethics (namely, the culture of rightness, uprightness or righteousness), will be ruined by entrenched and endemic corruption and social injustice, largely through misappropriation of funds and mismanagement of their abundant and varied resources.
